Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to be able to plan a carriage ride with us, on any device and with any assistive technology.

Our commitment

AJ Carriage and Livery wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we have done

  • Every page is readable without JavaScript, and the content is plain HTML with a single main heading per page.
  • Text can be resized to at least 200 percent without loss of content.
  • Images that carry meaning have descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • The service carousel, menus and forms work with a keyboard, and focus is visible.
  • Colour contrast in the palette is chosen for legibility on both the ivory and deep green backgrounds.
  • Motion is reduced automatically for visitors whose device asks for reduced motion.
  • Forms label every field and report errors in text.

Known limitations

  • The hero video is decorative and has no audio. It cannot be paused from the page.
  • Some historic blog posts use long paragraphs and few subheadings.
  • A formal accessibility audit has not yet been completed.
